Hi Yannick, i'm from spain, i try to explain in english better than french...I have a question about encrypted systems with LUKS on LVM but not on raid.

Yesterday i installed latest Archlinux i686 on a 8Gb USB stick, not live, normal installation. Sometimes i loose my pendrives so i decided to encrypted it. I used LUKS an LVM, i mapped de partitions as /dev/sdX...., but i'm thinking about to change to UUID because I have a hell of machines at home with several drives each one and if i leave it like that , probably i'll have some problems. So i'm not sure if that i want to do is possible or not, i want your advice...,because i don't know if during the encryption with LUKS and partitioning with LVM the targets names /dev/sdX are untouchable.

So i want to:

1.- use blkid to obtain de UUID from normal partitions like /boot, cryptdevice like /dev/sdb2(in my case) and mapped partitions of LVM like /dev/mapper/lvm-home and /dev/mapper/lvm-root

2.- change /dev/sdX by /dev/disk/by-uuid/XXXXXXXXXXXx on fstab and menu.lst (leave fallback untouched, :))
.
.
.
Well, i have to tell you that while i'm writing this comment i'm trying to make it.
.
.
and it works!

Thanks

I think there's an issue, the VoIP proxy is not working, so incoming calls are no more working.

By now, I can't help any more, as I switched back to Belgacom.

I searched on the web and guessed a lot!

But I think there's an issue, the VoIP proxy is not working, so incoming calls are no more working.

That's funny, I tried the Fedora installer because I thought it would be quicker but it ended up making a complete mess of my partitions and I had to boot Arch to see what was going on. I find GUIs very unfriendly these days. As soon as there's a problem they leave you stuck with no idea what just happened.

Hi, are you the Yannick Loth who posted for a efficient packet sender ? I'm just working into a linux one, now the code is REALLY REALLY quick and dirty (sorry, i did a lot of experiments). It's fast full-band in a 1GB network , but i have to optimize more for 10GB. I'will past you the proof of concept and oprofile. The current bottleneck is linux kernel stuff (copy_from_user mainly but not only) :

the code

Hi,
i read your article because i want to create two network zones (internal and DMZ) as you said you have using VirtualBox. Do you have the instruction on how to do it?
Thanks

Hi Yannick

From material available on the web, CircaBC sounds like a visionary project.

Is it looking to provide real-time synchronous collaboration? If so, the Plutext AMP module may be of interest - http://forge.alfresco.com/projects/plutext/ - especially once you are able to use docx4all - our Swing-based word processor - as a collaboration client.

cheers
